"Items.dat" is a data file. It defines all information regarding items and weapon enchantments.

The level of the item defines where it can be found. It relates to the level of the dungeon, defined in dungeons.dat

Item ClassEdit

Name Item SubClass Description
armor Armor All armor items such as chest pieces, boots, helms, rings and amulets
decorations Decoration Junk items such as bones and skulls
food Food Food items such as apple, cheese and ale
melee Sword Melee weapons such as sword, dagger and mace
potions Potion Random potion items. Random effects can't be changed as of yet.
ranged Bow, ItemStack Ranged weapons and ammunition such as bows and arrows.
scrolls Scroll Scrolls used to cast spells
wands Wand Magic wands
weaponEnchantments ItemModification Enchantments that can appear on weapons such as elemental damage, knockback and speed

attackAnimation string Name of the attack animation in animations.dat
attackStrongAnimation string Name of the strong attack animation (after a charge) in animations.dat
baseDamage integer The base damage of the weapon (minimum damage)
baseMods {property: value, ...} Other stats the item provides when equiped, suck as hp and speed
chargeAnimation string Name of the charging animation in animations.dat
chargespeed float How fast the charge animation plays. 1.0 is the default.
cost integer Price of the weapon for when it appears in a shop
dropSound string file name Which sound to play when this item is dropped. Can use a list of sounds separated by a comma
itemType string The sub-type of the item. It's usually the same as the SubClass but lowercase
knockback float The knockback force of the weapon. 0.1 being very low, and 6 being super strong.
name string The name of the item in uppercase
pickupSound string file name Which sound to play when this item is picked up. Can use a list of sounds separated by a comma
randDamage integer How much the damage is randomized. The maximum damage is this plus the baseDamage
reach float Reach of the weapon. Usually from 0.45 to 0.65
speed float How fast the attack animation plays. 1.0 is the default.
tex integer items.png id The texture used by the item
inventoryTex integer The texture used by the item while in the player's inventory
heldTex integer The texture used by the item while being held


Properties relevant to the class Sword

Name Value Description
reach float Reach of the weapon. Usually from 0.45 to 0.65
speed float How fast the attack animation plays. 1.0 is the default
swingSound string file name The sound(s) for when the player swings the weapon
wallHitSound string file name The sound(s) for when the player hits a wall with this weapon
